Happy St. Patrick's Day!

 The Leprechauns came to our house. They turned our breakfast green and helped me plan a treasure hunt for Jared.

I wanted to make Jared an applique t-shirt for St. Patrick's Day, but my sewing machine broke again! I had already cut a clover out and I happened to have a plain white t-shirt laying around, so I couldn't not do it. I tried to improvise and use spray adhesive to attach the clover to his shirt, but I ran out as I was doing it! It just wasn't going well. You can see in some of the pictures that it is not laying flush on his shirt. It would have been so cute with some dark green zig-zag stitching around the edges, but I guess it just wasn't going to work out on this one. Oh well.

We had green milk, green crepes, green yogurt, and green eggs! I enjoyed the breakfast they left, but I couldn't bring myself to drink the green milk. Jared loved it though!

After breakfast Jared discovered the rainbow clue that was left for him, and began his Lucky Treasure Hunt.

I loved this Lucky Treasure Hunt! I am so grateful for the creativity of others, because the leprechauns never paid us a visit when we were younger, so I had no good ideas. I really wanted it to be fun and special for Jared though, and he LOVED this.

{Please ignore our dirty dirty basement apartment window, among other messes.}

Apparently I didn't help the little green men securely attach the rainbow clues to an outside rock and tree and the wind blew some of them away. Luckily Steve is good at improvising and we managed to make up some hints that led Jared to his lucky treasure.

I love his face here. He was SO excited when he found his Lucky Treasure.

Papa happened to be outside as Jared found his last clue and helped Jared open his first chocolate coin. He is  obsessed with them. I really didn't expect him to like them as much as he does.
