A while ago I was inspired by a book I was reading to list the things I am grateful for on a regular basis. It's been a while since I have done this, which is too bad, because it is a good reminder for me of all that is good in my life. It is also good for me to talk about it with my little Jared. I have so much to be grateful for these days. I feel like I've lived in a dark, gloomy version of my world the past few months. I was having a lot of anxiety and stress and I was really unhappy. I am glad to say that that is no longer the case anymore. I don't know what has helped me make the change, maybe it's the nice weather, the start of a new year, or the fact that as a family we have made a greater effort to have family prayer and scripture study. It's probably a little of everything, but I'm sure the biggest factor is the scripture study and prayer. I also know that the support of my wonderful family and friends is always such a strength to me and will always get me through hard times.
I have so much to be grateful for.
Lately I'm grateful for:
Music- Sometimes I forget how moving a good song can be and can stir so many wonderful emotions. I am so grateful that there is so much beauty in music and that God us such an amazing gift.
Family
Jared's random, voluntary hugs or kisses
People acting like I'm not crazy when I fawn all over their cute babies because I am super baby hungry
Antibiotics
Family Nights
Papa Murphy's Garlic Chicken Pizza and cookie dough
Pull-ups
The Dinner Card- When we were setting family goals this year, Steve made a goal to make dinner at least one night a week. We invented the dinner card. It's been heaven. There is always at least one of those days that you are so worn out and frazzled and the last thing you want to worry about is dinner. That's when I pull the dinner card and the husband flies to the rescue.
What are you grateful for this week?
A few random thoughts...
Jared has been doing so well with his potty training! I am so proud of him. He is pretty much potty trained at home, but he still has a little bit of a hard time when we are out, but we're getting closer everyday. He is growing up so fast!
The other day Jared told me that I was the handsomest little boy... thanks son!
When I was in high school, one of my best friends and I were hooked on the TV series One Tree Hill. We would try and relate our lives to characters in the show, and obsess over cute guys on the show. Any way, after high school I stopped watching it. Recently I learned that it is still going! I was a little shocked, actually. Some shows you just wonder how much drama they can keep creating and how far they can stretch the story line. Kind of like Glee, how are they going to keep that going when so many of the main characters are graduating high school and from glee club? I know they always find a way to stretch it and add new characters and show their lives after high school, etc. You get my point though, right? ANYWAY, I became curious. So recently I started watching it again. I am kind of embarrassed by it, but I still LOVE it {insert comments making fun of me here}. There is a character on the show that has the nick- name "Skills". In all my viewing in high school, I always thought his name was "Skittles", I was always curious why that was his name and it never made much sense to me {again, insert comments making fun of me here}. It wasn't until I started watching it again that I put two and two together and realized that they didn't name him after delicious chewy candy. So now I have another guilty pleasure.
Do have a show that is your guilty pleasure?
