Ruffly Wreath

This is one of the many wreaths I started clear back in December. I was trying to be too ambitious and make wreaths for all my friends. I got a few done, but plenty of them got started and never finished. If you are wondering where yours is, don't worry, you will probably get it sometime within the next year! Seriously though, I am terrible at completing projects. I am even more terrible at underestimating the time it takes to do them. This wreath though, is pretty quick to make {if you are planning on just making one for yourself}. Anyway, I love anything with ruffles and if you love this ruffly wreath then here is a tutorial for you!

SUPPLIES YOU NEED:

:: 10" wreath form

:: 32"x36" piece of the fabric of choice
{I used left over muslin but any lightweight cotton or linen would work great!}

:: matching thread

:: hot glue gun

STEP ONE: Cut fabric into 18 strips of 2"x 32"

STEP TWO: Wrap wreath form with 2 of the strips. Start by pinning one end into the wreath form to hold it in place, you may need to do the same for the second strip.

When you finish wrapping it, your form should look like this:

STEP THREE: Ruffle your remaining strips. To do this, lengthen your machine stitch to its longest setting and sew a straight line down the middle. When cutting thread, leave a long tail and pull on one thread to desired rufflyness. You'll end up with a gorgeous pile of fluffy goodness.

STEP FOUR: Wrap one ruffled strip of fabric around your wreath form one at a time, gluing each end at the back to secure it's place.

Continue until your wreath form is completely ruffled!

{Though not necessary, I added a small piece of ribbon to the back and secured it with two pins.}

And there you have it!

So pretty!!! I love your creative talents and love that you're willing to share them. It would be such a waste if you didn't! Maybe someday I'll be able to whip out one of these projects, who knows.

PS - My verification word is "Howters". I first read Hooters. HAHA.

How did I miss all these posts!? I love the mess Jared made, but I can only imagine how frustrated I would have been had Axel done the same! I am not that patient.

I think we all feel like we fall short sometimes, if not most of the time. I think you are amazing, hope you feel better now.

I love your wreath, I can't believe you would make something like that to give away, you are always so generous with your talents, which I think is why the lord blesses you with said talents, I like to hord mine for myself which is why I never progress because I am selfish person. But like eveything you do that wreath turned out fantastic!
